Security image not working together with SMF integration

From FacileWiki

There is a problem with the SMF integration(*) because SMF installs a custom session save handler, replacing the default (file based) one which Joomla/Mambo uses and the security image of FacileForms depends on. Fortunately SMF has an option to also use the default session save handler:

  • Go to SMF Admin
  • Menu Configuration - Server Settings
  • Tab Feature Configuration
  • Uncheck Use database driven sessions

A second way to fix the issue is to only include the SMF stuff into your template on the page where SMF is, instead of every page. This would also improve performance, however I don't know what other implications it may have (experience reports welcome).

(*) Please note that this is only a problem with the integration, where SMF runs embedded in a Joomla/Mambo page. It is not (or should not be at least) a problem for bridge style integration where SMF runs standalone but only the login and user management is synced with Joomla/Mambo.
